World Suicide Prevention Day Luminaries at KSPHQ

Due to wet conditions, we are POSTPONING tonight’s World Suicide Prevention Day Luminaries to next Monday, September 14. We’re very sad to move the event, but the paper luminaries are not going to hold up in the wet conditions today.

We thank you for your understanding. This was a hard decision to make. Tonight, on World Suicide Prevention Day, we ask you to place a candle in your window at home to remember the loved ones we have lost, to celebrate the strength of those who are with us, and to honor anyone who grieves. You are loved. You are valued. You are appreciated.

You are loved. You are valued. You are appreciated.

This September 10, KSPHQ will be observing World Suicide Prevention Day through a socially-distanced event. We will be remembering those who died of suicide with luminaries lining our block of Delaware Street.

555 luminaries will be lit at sunset (7:30) remembering the 555 Kansans who died of suicide last year. You’re invited to drive through and observe your own moment of silence from the safety of your car.

We will have additional Luminaries if you’d like to light one in memory of someone who you love, in honor of someone who grieves, or in support of someone who is or has struggled.
